Privacy policy.

NarrativeClip.com ("we", "the site") is an independent editorial publication. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it. We try to keep it short and honest. It is not legal advice; for that, talk to a lawyer.

What we collect

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the Memory Tech Brief, we collect your email address. That's it. We use it to send the newsletter and nothing else.

Contact form

If you write to us via the contact form, we store your name, email, and message so we can reply. We delete these messages on a rolling basis after we've responded or after one year, whichever comes first.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server access logs: IP address, user agent, request URL, and timestamp. We use these to debug problems and identify abuse. We do not build profiles from server logs.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics in aggregate. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not sell personal data. If we add a third-party analytics tool in the future, we will list it here.

What we don't do

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate clicks share your visit with the retailer (Amazon and others) under their own privacy policies. See our affiliate disclosure for the full version.

Cookies

We use one or two strictly necessary cookies (for things like remembering you closed a banner). We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

Whether you live in the EU, the UK, California, or anywhere else, you can ask us to:

Email editorial@narrativeclip.com with the subject "privacy request" and we'll handle it within 30 days.

Children

The site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top and, for big changes, mention it in the newsletter.

About wearable cameras and privacy

Separately from this policy: a lot of our content covers wearable cameras, which raise their own privacy questions for the people around the wearer. See our wearable camera privacy guide for an overview.
